Devra Seidel

Devra Seidel is an actor, pianist, singer, teacher and musical director. She is currently living in Florida, working as a vocal coach and musical director. Ms. Seidel has a Bachelor’s in Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and a Master’s in Music from the Manhattan School of Music. For five years Ms. Seidel was the music director for Kids Company Showcase at the West Side YMCA in Manhattan, a children’s after school musical theater program which she helped to create. As an accompanist, Devra has played for various festivals including Planet Connections and the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York. In recent years she co-produced a benefit with the Triad Theatre and wrote and produced a short filmed titled ‘Look at Me’.
Favorite acting roles include Rosemary in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Anne Frank in A Diary of Anne Frank and Elizabeth Lavenza in Eric Sirota’s ‘Day of Wrath’ with Emerging Artists Theatre. Devra is also focused on comedy and improv and recently joined the cast at the Doghouse Theater. She is excited to continue teaching at the Delray Beach Playhouse where she was the musical director for the teen production of Grease this summer.

Fun fact about you:My biggest dream role is Peter Pan and growing up I believed that if I practiced enough I would be able to fly. I literally used to jump off of couches and chairs at home to practice. ( part of me still believes I could learn to fly. :))
