A native of Colorado, Allison fell in love with singing in second grade when her music teacher unexpectedly chose her to be Annie for the school musical! She has been singing ever since, in a variety of styles and settings. She first started with Musical Theatre, some favorite roles being Nancy in Oliver!, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Kim Macaphee in Bye Bye Birdie, and Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Though she still loves theatre, in college, she discovered how much she loved teaching and the magic of choral singing. In April 2021 she graduated Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Choral Emphasis. While at BYU, Allison sang in the world renowned BYU Singers in various concerts, music videos, prestigious conferences, and collaborated with other world-famous choirs such as Tenebrae and the Tallis Scholars. Allison has also sung with The Master Chorale of South Florida, who was recently featured in Andrea Bocelli’s Believe World Tour in Miami and with the Palm Beach Symphony for Mozart’s Requiem.
Though Allison has spent a lot of time in choral and classical voice settings, it hasn’t stopped her from belting and scatting! While living in Utah, Allison was the lead singer for Route 89 (a professional pop/rock cover band) as well as the lead singer for the internationally recognized Dixieland jazz band, BYU Jazz Legacy Band. She also spent a summer as a performer in the historic town of Nauvoo, Illinois where she sang and danced (and even clogged) in several shows every day all summer! Allison recently moved to South Florida (where her husband Jayson is attending Medical School) and is excited to start singing here! In addition to performing, she runs her own vocal studio, teaches early childhood music classes, directs a community choir, and of course, loves chasing around her crazy and adorable toddler.
Favorite song growing up: I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
Favorite female artist: Definitely Ella!
Fun fact about you: Allison loves the outdoors! She loves hiking, swimming, wake surfing, water and snow skiing, and still hasn’t figured out if she likes the beach or mountains better!
