Alexa Amor

A Florida girl through and through, Alexa Amor has lived in Boca Raton since birth, and she doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon! Born to a Cuban dad and a Spanish mom, she is a second generation American-and proud of it! She feels blessed to have grown up with her Hispanic roots and appreciation for the Latin culture and language. Raised in an immigrant household, she was always encouraged to pursue her American Dream, and now being a part of The Victory Dolls, she feels like she is truly living it!

A natural thespian, she’s always had a flair for the dramatics. If you ask any of her close family and friends, they will tell you that she was born to be on stage! One of her first memories was singing early 2000s classic bops like Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” and Britney’s “Oops!…I Did It Again,” with a microphone in hand at all the family parties.

Anyone that knows her can also tell you that she was born in the wrong era. So it seems like a match made in heaven that she is able to now couple her love of jazz standards and all things vintage and patriotic, with her love of performing as a Victory Doll!

She’s had the acting bug for as long as she can remember. In her youth, she performed in various theater productions, playing Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, Grace Farrell in Annie, and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, to name a few. She’s had the opportunity to perform at showcases across Florida, including Disney. She’s also sung in the choir for Spanish Mass at her local churches both in Boca Raton and Gainesville.

While most teens played a sport after-school, Alexa spent her spare time training her voice at a local vocal conservatory. Classically trained, she has experience singing arias in Italian, French and Spanish from various operas, such as Carmen, Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, Lakmé, Madama Butterfly, The Mikado and Serse. She owes much of her vocal talent to her amazing voice teacher from many years back, Mrs. Jessica Valdez.

In her young adult years, Alexa has had the pleasure of performing at special events, being invited to sing the National Anthem and God Bless America. She’s also performed at weddings and funerals.

When she’s not performing, she spends her days chasing kids around at a local dance studio, teaching them a multitude of techniques in theater and dance. She hopes to inspire them to chase their dreams one day like she’s chasing her own.

From the bottom of her heart, she would like to thank the Victory Dolls Team for making her dream reality by allowing her the opportunity to share her passion on stage. She can’t wait to Boogie-Woogie with the rest of the gals!

Favorite song growing up: Me Voy a Pinar del Rio by Celia Cruz & Sonora Matancera (this song is sentimental as it references the place where my father and his family grew up in Cuba. A Cuban-exile, he left it behind in pursuit of freedom in America, and he hasn’t gone back since.)
Favorite cocktail: Mango Mojito (I have to rep my roots, of course!)
Favorite female artist(s): Celia Cruz and Lola Flores (they’re both so expressive and are vocal powerhouses!)
Fun fact about you: I’m left-handed! I also share the same birthday with fellow Victory Doll, Allyson- what are the odds?
