Amy Miller Brennan originally hails from Birmingham, Alabama. The only girl amongst three brothers and two step-brothers, Amy was a bit of a tomboy growing up. She was an avid fast-pitch softball player and even garnered two college scholarships for the sport. In 4th grade, Amy was also awarded a full College Scholarship to the University of Montevallo as a Centennial Scholar. So, it seemed her path was set to either head to Montevallo or accept a softball scholarship. As fate would have it, Amy was spotted singing in her High School talent show by the head of Musical Theatre at Birmingham-Southern College and was asked to audition for their program. Her parents told her they were 100% supportive IF she could earn a scholarship in Musical Theatre. A very determined gal, Amy prepared, auditioned and earned a scholarship slot in the incoming Freshman class. It wasn’t until midway through her Freshman year that she realized this was her true calling! Amy then made the move to the Big Apple, by way of Philly, and began graduate school at The Actors Studio.
I come from a long line of Veterans and this project is giving me the opportunity to salute my family and all Veterans in vintage style! My Grandfather and Step-father are Veterans of the Navy. Three of my brothers and my husband are Army Veterans, and I have an extremely patriotic heart. As an old soul, this music is my jam!
As with most aspiring artists in the city, Amy worked several jobs and gigs to stay afloat. It was at one of these jobs, as a waitress, that Amy was approached by a producer after he heard her singing in the dish pit of the restaurant. He whisked Amy away for an audition and within 24 hours, Amy had booked her first professional show and scored her Actors Equity Card.
One thing led to the next, she met a guy, moved to Florida, had some babies and is thrilled to be a Victory Doll!
